EUMETSAT chooses KSPT equipment for Svalbard

Kongsberg Spacetec has received an order for the delivery of a X-band Fast Extract System that shall be used on Svalbard for the reception of Metop X-band data. The data will be received and processed by the new High Rate Demodulator and Front End Processor (HRDFEP) system from KSPT.

In addition to reception of the data, the processing up to L0 is also done. The L0 products will be delivered to the EUMETSAT Advanced Retransmission Service (EARS) Product Processing Node (PPN).

The EARS system at Svalbard is operated by Kongsberg Satellite Services.

The new HRDFEP product from KSPT is designed to operate unattended in a fully automated way to provide 7 days/week and 24 hours/day service.
