NASA modernize ground stations with our MEOS Capture eBox
NASA’s EOS Data and Operations System program at Goddard Space Flight Centre, MD, USA, has chosen technology from Kongsberg Spacetec AS to upgrade the ground station network for their Earth Observing System satellites.
The upgrade includes using the MEOS Capture eBox system for data reception and first level processing at the Svalbard, Alaska, White Sands and Wallops ground stations. MEOS Capture eBox systems will also be placed at Goddard Space Flight Centre for further processing. This upgrade also includes the use of the Kongsberg Spacetec's MEOS Connect to monitor and control all remote ground stations from Goddard Space Flight Centre.
Kongsberg Spacetec has cooperated with NASA EDOS since 2003, providing part deliveries leading up to this overall upgrade. “This is a very important contract for us, and marks a breakthrough in the American market. We consider the fact that such a demanding customer as NASA EDOS is investing in our technology for critical and cost effective operations as a declaration of faith. We are also experiencing a great interest in our systems from both Asia and Europe, says President Bjørn Kanck at Kongsberg Spacetec.
